I had a '67 Camaro RS coupe. I thought it was beautiful. Had the 327 V8, 4 speed Muncie transmission, etc.
The modern Camaro was a take off in styling of the '69 Camaro, which I didn't like, either the original '69 or the modern day interpretation.
I did like the '70 1/2 style, with the open grille and two bumperettes.
Apparently the reason the new Camaro was given the '69 styling cues is because the '69 is generally thought of as the most popular looking Camaro, which I can't fathom.
But then the '57 Ford is also thought of by many rodders as the best looking Ford of the 1950's, which I also can't fathom. I'll take the '58 or '59 Ford look, everyday over the odd looking '57.

Yeah agree. Cool when they came out back in 2010? I tore the rear tires off a rental SS back then. Fun car.
But Ford has always been pretty spot on with the Mustang look after 05 and Dodge hit a grand slam with the Challenger.

I thought getting rid of the round tail lights really was the end for me. Then I found out they were moving the engine to the middle. Thought that was a rumor and they'd never do it, but it appears to be true. It's also going to raise the price quite a bit. To me, they've ruined the Corvette brand forever unless there is a drastic change in management over there...and I'm a huge GM/LS fan.

2018 1LE SS VS 2018 Mustang GT
This 2018 1LE SS is a beast. What is killing it is ergonomics.
From a performance stand point it destroys cars 3 times its price and lays waste to anything GM made before oh say before 2010.
I am a numbers guy and the performance numbers are there.

Ford did the best retro look job with the newer Mustang, no doubt in my mind. I also felt tha the first gen Mustang...both notchback and fast back...also the '67-'68 Mustang fastback were great looking. The early '70's and then the Mustang ll...ouch... in looks.
The 'late '80's Mustang 5 liter both notchback and fastback...very good looking.
But, most years during the life of the Mustang/Camaro though...the Chevy had the edge in their V8's, V6's power.

Mustang really looks good. But I would take the Challenger any day.
Rode in a 18 Charger HellCat it was insane at 707hp. 4 men on board at 1,000#.
Bottom line the Camaro won’t be missed.
