Well maybe the truck builders are finally listening to the RV crowd for a change:
Just got a brochure on the 2020 GMC HD trucks.
1. They have finally made the bed rails lower
2. They have a bed camera to see your 5th wheel hitch.
3. 10 speed Allison
4. All types of options for camera views with trailer
I know, it all costs money but at least it is avaliable. I may be in the market for a new one.

I thought GM's new HD trucks are longer and taller. I'm surprised to hear they made the bed rails lower.

My dissapointment is their failure to offer adaptive cruise. I have grown to really appreciate its function while towing in heavy traffic. They are upping the bar though in other features like their camera system. Just reading about it makes me think they will have it all over Ford in that department. They seem to have a lot of well thought out features, plus increased payloads in the 2500's and 3500 single rear wheel. The 2500 diesel now has an 11,350 GVWR which is one ton territory.

I thought I'd love to have a 2020 GMC but....it looks like I'll have to come up with lots of money. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/06/25/chevy-is-working-on-what-could-be-the-first-pickup-to-top-100000.html
And I understand the side ARE HIGHER, not lower and it is longer. Oh well, I'll stick with my F350 for a while.

I know. I have looked at them and they are impressive. I am toying with the idea of going back to a single rear wheel but need about 600 more pounds of payload in one equipped like we would want. We started out towing with a single and it was fine except we were overloaded. The manufacturers are now increasing their capacities so I'm just waiting to see where they fall. Ford will be out with their new ratings later this year.
Our Excel is short bed friendly with the concave corners on the front cap but I was concerned about the Ram's short bed length. It is 6' 4" compared to 6' 9" for the GM and Ford's.

Fake Allison sounds better! Wonder how much GM paid to use the name? Hope it works well, otherwise is will drag down the Allison name.
Now to no more torque management with RAM and GM's. I wonder what they have re-branded it as. Drive Train Protection Feature??????
Features List:
LT275/75R18E Tires
10 Speed Allison Transmission
Drive Train Protection
Fifth Wheel Puck System
DEF Fill Inside Fuel Door
In Bed Camera
etc
etc
etc
