I will cut him a little slack, as he was a Ram/Dodge guy back when they were not up to par....So he is still not used to being in a competitive truck... Just doesn't know how to act yet.

It's OK, he will get used to it... At some point.

And here it comes from the other side. Geez, you guys can't feel good about what you drive without hating on something else. If you really have to down someone else's truck in order to make you feel better about your own, then you must feel insecure that your truck is not all that and a bag of chips.

I just go back to the PATHETIC excuse of not being able to SAE tow more than 22,700#. “Our customers don’t need to tow more than that”. Maybe not exactly what they said but close.

Yeah it must be waaaay back there to only be rated to tow 35k!

Lofl. Some people would bitsch and complain if you hit em upside the head with a bag of money...

I think someone in a GM did him wrong. That is why he hates them just a little more than Fords.

Don’t hate GM at all. Have an AWESOME 99 Tahoe with over 230k.

Just pointing out a few things just like you do. I don’t need to be snarky.

Okay, let me clarify.

"I think someone in a GM HD diesel truck did him wrong. That is why he hates them just a little more than Ford SD diesel trucks."

It is really sad when two Ram owners even notice it.

Its more than hate....The comments are actually quite snarky. The comments about the 10 speed, positioning of fifth wheel plate and on and on (this would be a comprehensive list I just don't feel like going back researching what everyone knows anyway). I think the new GM HD somehow threatens the man somehow. If Ram had access to a 10 speed they would have one in their pickups right now and when they do, I have a feeling it will the holy grail of transmissions as long as Aisin builds it and says Ram somewhere on it. I will agree with the low GVW numbers, it was pathetic and just to make GM feel bad I run mid 30K payloads anyway, and I have since my first Duramax in 01.

SMH, this thread makes me miss the days of my 89 GMC 1 ton 454/3 speed/4.10's screaming everywhere 4 mpg down hill. That truck took me everywhere. Sometimes really slow but I still got there.

I like the idea of moving the fifth wheel plate back a bit. The new GM short box might turn close to 90 degrees without popping out the back window and I dont think unloading 100 lbs off the front axle is going to be noticed.

And the step at the front of the short box might allow you to reach it! Somebody is not going to like us now...
