The 6.4l seemed to struggle on ike gauntlet, disappointing the ancient 6.0l GM outperformed it.

Ram will have to answer to Ford new Godzilla/ 10 spd. 500lbft or greater is the new goal.Ford is slow on release of this vital number. It could be much higher.

Wasn't this with a pre-2019 6spd tranny? Worlds of difference being reported with the 8spd.

Yes, both were 6spds and 4.10 gears. The ram struggled...

The GM 6 speed and especially the ZF 8 speed (among other things) has much better gear spacing.

FWIW I have 580,000 miles on my (mid of 3 levels) ZF8 speed used daily to transport TT/THs & boats in the 4 to 9k range behind 465 TQ with zero repairs.

Transportr TT & boats RAM EconoDiesel Factory TBC, Tow mirrors, Hitch camera, Axle to frame air bags, Tune w turbo brake, Max tow 9,200 CGAR 7,800 CVWR 15,950 axle weights 3,340 steer 2,260 drive Truck pushed head gasket at 371k has original trans at 500k

Vern you are the crown jewel to promote not only the ZF, but the eco diesel and ram durability in general. It is an incredible combination, and I have enjoyed it as the most competent half ton truck on the market. But, I'm heading to a gas version hoping the newest HD series of the big 3 offer a solution to towing 8klbs at altitude with same low drama the eco diesel has provided.

I'm in the market to replace our eco diesel. Its exceeded expectations as a tow vehicle, but after the AEM, its not the same truck. I know a tune will solve the problem but I have personal issues with violating the federal clean air act.

So, looking for reviews from fellow rvers on the new 8 speed/6.4l ram hd series, and if you have the 4.10 gears. This combo or the new Ford with a 10 speed is on the short list.

Did you get your cash settlement from FCA yet?

After numerous attempts, and it has been a journey they say all is good and a check is coming. Time will tell,

Looking at left over 2018 ctds. I know a 6 speed but man 12k off list... I'm sure nothing for 8klb ATC

The 19s are minimally discounted. Tempting.

There should be no reason that you could not get at least $14k off an CTD. Everyone I know that purchased one is able to get at least that if they haggle and the people that I know with 6.4L engines were able to get at least $8k off.

Just read a great article. All vehicle sales slowing down and in some cases down double digit. Dealers are getting jammed. So, recession is predicted soon. Best thing to do is wait.

Ram is way up the last quarter and YTD. It was posted on here for all the truck Mfgrs recently. The economy hasn’t been up this much and this strong since Ronald Reagan in the 80s when he cut Carters socialist oriented policies and people & business got out from under progressive government tax & business control policies.

The economy might not be slowed until after we make the mistake of voting in another progressive global government oriented president. Although the last president assured us we would never see this kind of growth & prosperity again as he put his foot on economic growth & pushed our jobs abroad but I’m sure he thought a different administration would come in than did and continue with the global socialist agenda.

I think even the left wants sales to roll for awhile they just want it to be battery powered.

Yea, but the debt is crushing.Record increase, mostly due to tax cut. Its going to get ugly, and soon. Talk to the other discretionary industries like rv and boats.

One addition just checked. RV shipments through June down 27% from last year.
Boats flat. Still says to me things are slowing down. Lets hope I'm wrong....
