Planning a week or 2 in western NC - we have stayed at Lakeridge in Hendersonville and like it, but are considering Stonebridge in Maggie Valley - which would you recommend?

Thanks

You may want to have a look at Trails End RV Park, just a little ways from Maggie Valley on the way to I-40. We spent six months in 2017 and are repeating that this year. Good clean 50 amp FHU back ins in a quiet, beautiful park with great management. No restroom or other amenities

Have not been there yet, but Moonshine Creek near Sylva looks really good

We used to go to Stone Bridge yearly, but they really went down hill. Last time we were there, they never cleaned the bath house for the 10 days we were there... the same trash that was on the floor on the day we arrived was on the floor on the day we left. Walls were covered with mold. The pool was out of commission and wi fi did not work. Sites on the creek are nice though, if you can put up with the rest of the stuff. I understand they have new owners so maybe they have improved it. A couple miles away is Pride RV and Creekwood Farm RV which are much nicer.

There are three highly recommend. Campfire Lodging north of Asheville, Mama Gerties between Asheville and Black Mountain, Mountain Stream north of Marion just below the Blue Ridge Parkway. FHU and well kept.

We have stayed at Stonebridge several times...really liked it...the sites were nice and there is a little stream in back of the park...also a big open field if you have a dog.

What type of rig? Large or small?

Just spent two nights at Black Forest Family Campground on US276 south of Brevard near the SC line at Cedar Mtn. I think they have weekly rates. Some very nice sites, but the big rig stuff is more of a large gravel area. Many sites are very difficult to access. They put us in the nicest sites in the place I think, 410-412, but suitable for TT or Class C or small A up to about 28 ft. Lots of tent sites, and small cabins, nice bath houses and super clean pool area. Very rugged area.

I am in the closest trailer, my travel partner is the next one. The sites are set up with power and sewer on each side so one can pull in and the other back in and face each other. That works with a motorhome or camper van, no so much with the pickup. In hindsight, I rode with my friends when we went out, and I could have pulled in and "trapped" the truck, as I didn't use it anyhow.

We moved up to Mt Pisgah on Sunday when sites opened up.

Haven't been but you might consider http://www.cherokeesmokies.com/rvcampground/

or one of a couple of other campgrounds close to it.

Driving thru Maggie Valley we saw several long term campgrounds that had the RV jammed 3 or 4 feet apart, so investigate carefully before scheduling.
