Yeah I know this is a strange topic.
I have always bought "RV" toilet paper but I'm wondering if it is really necessary? It's so much more expensive than other TP.
I'm thinking I could just use the regular stuff we bought at Costco.
The package says "septic Safe" just like the rv stuff.
Opinions?

That's all I do. Septic safe paper, and plenty of water so nothing dries out in the tank.

In all the years we have been RVing we have never ever used RV toilet paper. Anything off the shelf that she would use in your house is OK. Why pay more.

It's been discused several times.
RV toilet paper is a waste of money, use the paper of your choice.
Your black tank is a holding tank, not a septic tank.

I think many, myself included, use septic safe paper.

We’ve used Costco TP forever! Like Dave says, use plenty of water so it can slosh around in the tank. This is for any TP!

The only downside with Costco is if you run out while on the road, you’re going to have to use another brand or find a place to store that huge package!

The "standard" test is to put your favorite brand in a container of water and shake it. If it breaks apart, you're good to go. Some multi-ply papers have glues that cause problems with black tank sensors. These will not break put in the jar test.

Remember, the black tank is a holding tank, not a septic tank. Stuff shouldn't sit in there long enough for the bacterial breakdown to take over.

COSTCO TP and never had a problem since 2001.

Don't waste your money on fancy stuff that some times needs salt water to dissolve.

My philosophy exactly. Other than cleaning your glasses it only has one use.

U buy Prince and Spring brand from Boxed.com Boxed is kind of like an on-line Sam's club only instead of driving miles UPS delivers.
