We drive a 2016, 3500 Ram with a 2 inch lift. Because of the higher front end I think a cam that is small and can mount up on the glass by rear view mirror would get a better view of the road.
Am I wrong? What brand to buy??

this is what my dash cam caught when I had to avoid an object falling out of a truck in front of me.. Oh, I WAS towing my #5000 TT at the time too.. I had time to check the mirrors to see that the right lane was clear, so no incident happened.

This is a VAVA dash cam.. Other than that, it's what I have and I have gotten lots of other clips and stills of things over it's time and works well for me.

This clip was just driving to work one day...

Good luck!

I note that a considerable amount of your clip is the hood and dash. Would mounting it up higher not capture more of the road?

Not really. That's about the same view I get from my own eyes driving the truck, so unless you mount something on the very front of the truck, I don't think you'll get any more coverage?

I have a Mini 801, it is mounted between the windshield and rearview mirror. It is very small and not visible from drivers seat, 16 gig micro SD add gives 6 hours of recording in 1 minute clips. Wired to come on when truck is running.

We have the BlackView DR750S-1CH that mounts behind the rearview mirror and is out of sight from the drivers seat. It works just fine.
I would also do a Google search for the available dash cams out there.

Well after the above comments I had my heart set on a Rexing. Went to Best Buy and they didn’t have this brand. So looked over what they had and left the store without buying. To confusing. Maybe I’m over thinking this.
Just went to Amazon and read the negative reviews about Rexing...because that’s all there is!
Perhaps I’m cautious because I sure am disappointed with the Garmin I bought last winter. It makes lots of mistakes.
