Let them cool just a bit so you don't burn your tongue or chin...
Then just do the man thing and shove it all in your mouth in one piece.
If it won't fit, shove harder, make it fit. Open wider if you have to.

This is what men do..

Oink!

large one - squeeze it in half and bite through

This. The proper way to eat an onion ring is to fold it in half , dip and bite through.

A good onion ring will not separate the onion from the coating like a bad onion ring will do. Bad onion rings are not worth eating. If the onion separates from the coating, send them back and get the fries.

Grab, fold and stuff in mouth. Immediately grab cold beer to chill the roasted fingers, get the beer to your mouth and cool it. If you do this fast enough you won't get blisters in your mouth.

It probably wasn’t peeled right.
Fold in half, dip in mustard, bite. Continue until the gorge is complete.

A&W has the best onion rings I've had anywhere, anytime. They cut the onions in store, dip in batter & drain, then dip in the crumbs. After frying the outside is crispy & the onion inside is cooked, but still a little firm. The onion does not slide out of the crust.

My gosh, I want some right now.

Heyyy, you're in Calgary too. Meet you at "Dubs" and we'll chow down on a batch of rings! I love A&W rings too. I like the one in Shawnessey! [emoticon]
