Hello all. Here is my first post.On a whim I bought a 1981 Midas Kingston class C.In the rear there is a spring loaded bunk. I removed the actual wooden bunk and the mechanism released and actually punched thru the rear of the coach. Any experience with these things? Now the tension is off the mechanism but Im worried that it may have sideways tension that will pop my windows if I try to remove it.Thanks!

The bunk raises to the ceiling and lowers to about chest level. Hope this helps explain. It's spring loaded and attaches to the rear left and right walls of the RV.

You might want to check in the Toy Hauler sub-forums... these types of bunks still exist in some units.

  • 2005 Winnebago "Minnie" 31C (was a three-time Jayco owner)
  • 2012 MasterTow Dolly pulling a 2003 Jeep Liberty (had Ram 2500 CTD, Dodge Durango, Honda Odyssey...)
  • Onan Microquiet 4000, plus 130W solar and Honda EU2000i twins for backup
