Not out of the woods yet. Need to know why it tripped and fix the real problem.

YOU GUYS ARE THE GREATEST! The positive cable came into a connection panel and I was feeling around and felt what must have been be reset button for the breaker. That did it.

Thanks so much for your willingness to help me out and bear with my ignorance.

It could be nothing more than that breaker has become oversensitive. You may want to replace it with an automatic reset breaker.

Hi - everything worked fine over the weekend. Then I was towing it and the right brake engaged as I was driving - right side brake light was on but not the left. I unhooked it from the car trailer connection and it disengaged so I took it to a gas station. I then hooked it back up to the car, but no lights work so I checked the same breaker where the positive battery cable connects, and lo and behold, it tripped again.

You think it could be an oversensitive breaker? You think the automatic reset breaker is something that would solve it?

Thanks in advance for following up on these.

Some additional information that might be helpful. When I got to the gas station, and reset the breaker, it tripped again a couple of times. I reset it again after 5 minutes, and it's working now. The common factor both times was that I went through slightly uneven grassy/brushy terrain that waasn't high or dense enough to do any damage to the wiring, but it's possible it tugged on a couple of cables further downstream from the breaker, such as the fresh water tank sensor.

Last update: as I've been driving on the road, the breaker has tripped a couple more times - I thought it might have to do with turning off/on the car, but that's not it - I can't reproduce the issue.

I'm sure it is just because it was a dry day, but I also got shocked by my car two or three times.

Anyway, the only common factor for this issue is when I'm towing.

Breakers are inexpensive. You may want to replace it to see what happens. If it trips you have other problems.

Ok,thanks, I'll try that. I assume 30 amp since that's what I'm wired for - that sound right?
