Wonder what the cops used for PC to search the RV? I mean, it was just a headlight violation after all.

Just a guess but maybe it was the smell of 190 pounds of pot??

The article didn't say anything about a consent search. I'm guessing there was a dog involved.

Sounds like a policeman was doing his job.

Considering how marijuana is becoming legal in more states every year, why risk the drug running?

As the saying goes, every person has their own issues they are dealing with.

Seems silly when we can just walk into a store a mile away and buy it. Except that it is taxed so heavily and the rules to sell legally are so expensive to comply with, the prices is nearly the same as buying it on the street.

Law enforcement likes to greatly inflate the "street value", no way 190 lbs is worth 600K. Makes it sound so much more important. This cop is really pulling people over for no headlights on? I feel so much safer on the road........ gaaaaaaggggggghhhhhh

They have that wipers on/headlights on law here in Mass. A local TV station did a story about it earlier this year. After 2 years in effect, not one ticket has been written.

The guy in this story must have acted guilty.

You clearly don't watch "Live PD". The police have the right to walk a drug-sniffing dog around your vehicle.

I don't do drugs/haul drugs; and appreciate that our RVs CAN be used for illicit purposes a la "Breaking Bad". If a policeman wants to look inside my RV, I'll invite them in and offer a beverage and a sandwich.

But where does the money go? I can buy a widget down the street, or go a few miles, cross the state line and buy the same widget. I prefer to buy close to home because the sales tax, and the profit help my neighbors. By the same train of thought, if I buy legal none of that money will get to drug cartels...
