We plan to do some camping around Wallace Idaho next summer. I am willing to be 25 miles from Wallace and state campgrounds are good as well. Any help is greatly appreciated.

AllStays Idaho CG map

Doesn't look like there are many CGs within 25 miles. The ones I found (farthest to closest) is Crystal Gold Mine RV park in Kellogg, Blue Anchor RV park in Osburn and Wallace RV Park in Wallace.

Wallace Park is a fairly nice park, close in sites though. Recent upgrades to systems, and opened up some of the really small sites. Busy though, need to make sure you can get a reservation in time for trip. Has tavern and brewery right there, and is almost downtown!!!

There are many nice NF CGs down south of Wallace along the St Joe River. No direct way down from Wallace. Can access from east at St Regis, MT and west from the Cataldo/Canyon, ID area. Hardly any NF stuff north of Wallace, but maybe some dispersed areas. Steep, narrow canyons so pretty much vertical camping!!!!

There are a few NFS campgrounds along I-90. My fav is Cabin Creek (very quiet,) though it's more like 35 miles from Wallace. NO hookups in any of them as far as I recall.

Which direction and how do you get there?

I made reservations at the Blue Anchor RV park in Osburn. Looks like a great park and Wendy there took good care of me. She was very helpful about the area as well.
