You can get a complete step assembly at Colaw for less then that!
Control unit is also available there. I have one in my garage! What is the numbers on your controller? PM me!

Control unit $117.16
Door magnet for new style control box $22.63

I have done this upgrade to older Kwikee steps and it works.
You may need to change the wiring connector for the motor.
