I'm a huge fan of daylight during daylight hours and firelight during non-daylight hours...

Me... Radical... I think not...

Amazing the leaps that people can make. Someone comes in saying they prefer a dark campground. Immediately they are pounced upon for being killjoys, and "crampers" whatever those are. Where did a desire for a non-Times Square environment, become a desire to kill all the bunnies and blind the kittens? It seems if you don't agree with someone, you are not just wrong, you're morally reprehensible.

Some people prefer a darker RV park, and some don't. It doesn't really mean anything other than that. But if you feel the need to rationalize your behavior, by all means have at it.

Should be dark enough over there!

This topic comes up every so often. Most campgrounds have street lights, and many have pole lights at every campsite. Darkness is not something you can expect at a campground, unless it is an unserviced campground. Boondocking is for people who don't want to deal with neighbors. I don't appreciate barking dogs, dog ****, music not to my liking, smoke from a smoldering campfire, and many other things people do at campgrounds. This doesn't mean I have any right to tell them not to do it. If I don't like something enough, I will vote with my wallet and leave. Many fond memories were made when the kids were small. We camped a lot. Im sure maybe someone thought the kids were to loud, or we had the campfire too big, or whatever. Families camping is what campgrounds are for. If people want to make them retirement homes on wheels, they should go to a dedicated 55 plus campground with strict rules, not to public campgrounds with families and local people who work all week, and want to let it go a bit on the weekend camping.

It Called Festive!
A celebration of sorts. The joy of camping!
You all ever been beach camping?? What about all the twirly things spinning in the wind? The festive fish spinners? I enjoy it and appreciate the joy of it!

And now with all the little solar light twirly spinning nautical theme things, Its allot of fun!

And in reality,, If it Irks you,, you have chosen the wrong Hobby! Maybe the Desert is for you? But to be honest, when we camp in the desert I have an LED flag pole topper that changes colors! It serves two maybe three purposes.
Its a camp locator when you are out on your dirt bike/quad/or side by side.
Its patriotic (red/white/blue) and its FESTIVE! AND,, It can run all night!

And if that bothers you----Don't ever camp at a NASCAR Event, Its always a FESTIVE event!

P.S. Be happy you are not my sticks and bricks neighbor, I have them in my back yard and some in the front! HA!

Funny you mention that, I do live in the desert and have an aversion to cement cites. I also so do the local Christmas lighting contest, with 1st 2nd place 6 years. There is a time and place for lights and camping is not it. Your comment shows just what kind of neighbor you would be and the exact reason I live in the back 40, I don't have to deal with that mentality. Big difference between cement jungles and county folk.

Read my original, why all night. The CA responses seem to prove the point, hold my beer and watch this $hit. All fun and games till the cops show up. See the blue line in my avatar?? There is a reason for it, idiots fed my family 25 years and paid for all my RV equipment. I still think lights all night are ignorant, annoying, and inconsiderate kind of like some people. Stay in your city & I'll stay in my country.
