It's been a loosing battle for the last two years. Set up a bird feeder and within a couple days the squirrels figure out a way to get to the seed!
Recently we decided to hang a homemade feeder on a line we had strung around the motorhome for a string of lights. Well of course the Squirrels would simply shimey across the line and drop onto the feeder.......until now!
Deb, my wife ran across an article about using a couple 2 litre bottles with a hole in the bottom. String the line thru them and hang the feeder between the bottles.
Works like a champ!

Enjoy the antics!

Not related or is it....

I'm a ham Radio Operator... A couple other hams put on a monthly Internet TV show (Amateurlogic.com) and one of them has a problem with Squirrles eating his antenna feed lines and antennas..... Sadly the trick you used won't help him but ... It's a running joke on that show about Tommy and his battle with 'em.

Maybe slice the bottle, put it around the antenna feed line and tape the bottle. At least the squirrels wont be able to get around the bottle.

Had a bird feeder at home on top of a pole. Coffee can with holes places on the pole, painted to match and feeder above that. Squirrels couldn't get past the coffee can to get up to the feeder. They have very short front legs. Works well as long as you don't have other items for them to climb on or trees/bushes they can jump from.

Ok wise guy! LOL

Been a rather warm winter thank god!
Cleaned the heat exchanger and combustion squirrel cage blowers, new burner, igniter and sail switch on the forward furnace. Running like a well oiled sewing machine this winter. About 22 gal of propane/week.
