We find many private parks that have rates less than a state parks. Never use state parks. Instead we go for monthly rates, corp of engineer parks, use passport america, city and county parks. We have been full-time 9 years and our average overnight cost is $9.62 night. We have a seaonally rented site at a county campground with full-hookups for $1,500 from May 1 to Oct 1. Those type of things keep our cost down tremendously. We occasionally stay at a Walmart, but no more than 5-6 nights in a year and don't boondock.

Which part of the country is this?

Out West you'll be lucky to get a campsite at $25 a night -- no hookups.

The plot thickens. The governor of California just issued an order that all Californians must stay home. What if you don't have a home? Or what if your home has wheels? Can you role over to a free state?

If I lived in California and my home had wheels, I woulda been long gone before now.

Mike

As a Californian will tell you, if you are not paying taxes in the state -- and specially if your poor state is being subsidized by their tax money, you have no right to speak about them and it's NOYB![emoticon]

California got enough of my tax money, and I got nothing for it.. so yeah, it is my business.

Mike

You are from Georgia for chrissakes!

You are getting $1.29 for every dollar you pay in federal tax.

If you are complaining about taxes you are paying in California, don't visit. You only get California tax is if you go there and buy stuff.

Californians and NYers don't have any choice but subsidize with their taxes your very poor state.

Just cause it says Georgia, doesn't mean he's never lived in California. I'm a native Californian and lived there almost my entire life(for 60 years), until I retired and escaped as quickly as possible. So even though my profile says Washington, I paid California taxes for 45 years.
So I definitely feel I can comment about California, as many of us that left California have the right to.

Let see how that would work with an ex-wife if she won't punch you in the mouth that you've left her, not paying for alimony but you still can't and won't shut your trap about her, her life and her life style.

How about an ex wife who rips you off and then, when you finally had enough and leave, she criticizes you for leaving?

Seriously, don't flatter yourself. Do you really think California or any Californian cared that you left?

Reminds me of a famous country song. I've thought about getting a bumper sticker that says:

"All my exes live in Texas, that's why I live in an RV"

It's funny because it's true.

I can believe that!

My daughter just bought a home from a recently divorced couple.

The woman is moving to the Bay Area while the dude is going to Texas.

Wonder why is that if this is indeed the pattern, lol.
