I think the truly hysterical were those who hoarded Spam.
Everybody needs TP, and there are apparently a lot of people totally freaked out at the thought of having to use something other than TP (or worse yet, nothing!) to wipe with.
But flatbeds stacked high with Spam? If you eat that much Spam, you’re gonna need massive amounts of TP! Seems self-defeating to me. Especially if Spam isn’t a part of your normal diet. You can’t just go from a no-Spam diet to an all-Spam diet. I’m telling you, your bowels will revolt!

Our three girls ask every few days “Is it time to send in another order to Chewy.com yet?”

No but I was in Nepal when it started and just got back. Plus I realize, I can always hop in the shower and do a poor mans bidet if I run out.
Of course the hysteria doesn't require 100% adoption. If I'm among the 5-10% of reasonable people, the hysteria continues on unabated.

My taste buds revolt over Spam long before my bowels ever could.

If you do't understand what hysteria is...try googling it.

To keep this tied to RV'ing...the media has recently been hyping that people shouldn't go to rural areas...as long as you are healthy, it's actually a very safe approach. I could see putting some entry limits on the parks to avoid crowds but complete shut down isn't needed.
But this is a weird virus - YOU could have it right now, be spreading virus all over the place - and feel perfectly fine.. And if you go visit our parks/campgrounds, you will be infecting anyone who touched a surface that you touched. When the virus finally overwhelms your immune system, you'll be looking for a rural hospital that might already be full.
THAT is why they are closing the parks.

Nothing weird about this virus. It's a fairly typical virus. You just are now learning about how viruses spread.
If I'm quarantining in the RV, the only surfaces I'm touching are my RV. Why are you going around touching my RV during a quarantine period?
There is typically a few days between symptoms and getting serious complications...so you can always drive back to your urban area if the rural hospital is full...but we've already been quarantined for 3 weeks with no signs...so not really an issue.
Again, placing some logical limits makes sense (ie: bathhouses and visitor centers closed) but blanket closures don't make near as much sense.
