How many campers have stayed at an RV park where there is a charge to use the shower? We are at one that takes 'quarters only' to turn on the water. Max is $2.50 for 15 minutes.

We've been to a few of them , but that was several years ago up in the north east states. We haven't used a CG shower in years.

We've only encountered it once, at a campground in Maine. Back then it was 5 minutes per quarter if I recall correctly. That was about 18 years ago.

We went on a canoe trip years ago and tent camped there before we got an RV. It had pay showers that were a quarter for 4-5 minutes. They were converted car wash controls and had wash , rinse and wax! We got quite a few laughs out of that.

Lots of campgeounds were set up this way years ago, depending on the area you could see a lot or a few of them. I have only stayed at one like this. But when i bought my pop up i was wondering why i found about 100$ in change in a draw, lol.

I have seen a couple. In my area they are rare. But they are out there.
I don't use CG showers or bathrooms so they have minimal impact on my camping style.

Last check Washington State Parks have pay showers, likely closed due to COVID.

Many have pay showers x minutes for a quarter. I have a shower in my RV & I know who was in it last, a primary reason for me to have the RV.

I think all the Vermont state parks (with showers, which are practically all the ones with campgrounds) use quarters for the showers--at least, that was true as of a couple years ago.

My understanding is that you get plenty of time, water flow, and hot enough water for your quarter or two; it doesn't seem to be a money-maker for the park, but probably more a way of preventing people from hogging the facilities excessively.

Being a cheapskate, I tend to use the shower in my RV instead when the park showers are pay-to-use.
