A few weeks ago I did 5400 miles/11 states/ 10 days on a motorcycle and tent camped. To minimize down time I ate one meal a day and started each day at around 4 am. Visited numerous national parks. The bike I took was an unrestored 32 year old Yamaha. It did fine except a broken speedometer cable.
Ill post some pics if anyone is interested.
Next trip will be Newfoundland and Labrador.

Sure some pics would be great! I have taken many lengthy trips over the years, and enjoyed tent camping while doing so. There were some times, when tenting in a small 2-person tent, just was not safe, due to weather, or unsafe location. In those cases, got a motel room, which made girl friend happy! [emoticon] I did take same GF on our motorcycle honeymoon, another long trip. My longest daily ride was 600 miles (too much), but normally tried for 400, sometimes had to settle for 250.

When I was single I took at least one 16 day motorcycle trip every years and many 4 day weekends. I camped all the time. To me, hotels meant traveling for work and I hated that.
I used whatever bike I had at the time. Kawasaki 550, Honda CB900C (full dresser) Kawasaki GPZ750 (great in the mountains but really sucked going across the plains), another CB900C, and finally a GL1200 (Goldwing). Traveled over 400,000 miles (documented) and rarely traveled on the Interstates.
I will admit that my F150 pulling my TT is much more comfortable. I figure I deserve the comfort at 65 years old. The wife can't take more than 2 hours a day on the cycle.

Pics, sure. 540 miles per day on average for 10 days? How long did it take afterward for you to stop vibrating? [emoticon]

rexlion...it was a Yami, not a Harley! 540 miles a day on a 32 y/o Harley and you'd have loosened/lost most of your teeth after 10 days! [emoticon]

Anywho...where are those dang pics?? OP...come back!

I too would like to see some pictures.
I have been Coast to Coast to Coast. Downtown NYC. Downtown Fairbanks and many other places. My honeymoon was a 2 week motorcycle trip to Glacier and Canada. We went to UT and CO; each for different 2 week trips.

I (2-10-05) bought a 2002 F350 CC SWD PSD and a new 2003 Citation 10'8. I have been a tent camper all my life. I wanted more comfort while camping and CraterLake Ski Patrol.
It's time for more space. I purchased a 2016 Grand Design 380TH as of 10-29-2015.

My wife and I have done 875 in one day with a storm on our tail. I have done 925. Check out these guys. They do cross-county trips on 100 year old bike or close. I have gone to see these guys and gals as they cross the country 4 time. KEN
