Hey,

We are getting ready to sell the S&B in NC and buy another in Florida. North of Tampa near the coast, kind of the old Florida, if there is such a thing anymore.

Anyway, tying to figure out some of the good and bad things we will deal with, like vehicle registration, boat registration, TT registration vehicle insurance, and taxes on same.

I think we already know there are no State income taxes. Aware of flood insurance since we have that now in NC. Also familiar with Hurricanes. We are in Hurricane alley in NC already.

Anyone move from NC or know the pros / cons?

Thanks

You're taking about selling a house, and buying a house around Tampa- sounds best to discuss concerns with a real estate agent in the area. Try my friend Maria is based out of Trinity - (317) 371-0935 and https://mazuaje.bhhsfloridaproperties.com/

As far as vehicles and registrations, tags, etc. the fees are much the same except that Florida charges a first-time fee of $275. For each new tag issued.

Depends on where you go. It's getting pretty crowded north of Tampa anymore, especially with the introduction of the SunCoast Parkway.

Your auto/rv insurance will be high due to the # of uninsured motorists here. It's about 1/3 of the drivers are uninsured, highest in the nation,so those of us that do have insurance get to pay more.

We are in the opposite end. Moving from Florida to north Georgia mountains. Home and auto insurance is 1/2 of Florida’s rates. While real estate taxes are less, sales tax and income taxes make up the difference.
