It looks like Onan has a new generator for truck campers. It seems much more sophisticated and much quieter.

Onan QC 2800i

Here is a review:

Onan CQ 2800i

Our new camper just rolled off of Northwood’s production line. Onan doesn’t list the old generators on their web site so I am hoping we get this one.

Gas?...MMM, how does that work? So the TC would have a gas tank? This would not be a good choice for a genny in any slide in bed TC if at all. Trying to wrap my head around this one. I would think this would be for more like a class B where the fuel line is plumbed into the main tank of the vehicle which is what they show in the review and what if you had a diesel?...It does not make sense to me trying to put this in a TC and why?. I just did the propane conversion on my new Honda 2200i for the exact reason not to have to carry gasoline. LPG is way safer and has many other benefits. Gas may produce more power but the trade offs are greater. IMHO.

Read the specs...says it comes in gas and LP models....gas = 2.8Kw...LP = 2.5Kw..

OOPs yeah an oversight....my bad. Didn't dig deep enough...but at first glance they should put that right in the main page. It is not like...Gas/LPG...it just says gas.

It's about time Onan finally updated to an inverter style gen set..Now if they would only make there generators more reliable and less troublesome like most portables..

Lack of use is what causes the problems.

I don't have that problem with any of my other generarors that sit just as long as my Onan did,Including my 2 Hondas,a Westinghouse/Generac and ETQ..I am an Onan fan boy but they need to update there generators to modern standards like inverter technology and ease of maintaining..
