We took some stuff to a local scrap metal place and got weighed and our F350 6.7L 4WD was just under 9000#

Seems in the right ballpark. Our 2017 Ram 2500 Cummins Laramie with added on running boards, solid fold tonneau cover and 35” tires is around 8200lbs empty.

The 8.1 Suburban was 6700 with me and 38 gallons of gas...

I just went back and looked at the GVWR, which is listed at 12,300. The door sticker says 4292 cargo capacity, so 12300 - 4292 = 8008 empty, add in me, side steps, tonneau, front hitch, and some misc stuff in the truck and I guess the scale is pretty close.

So I loaded up some old junk and took a ride to the town dump yesterday. You pay by the ton so they weigh you going in and coming out.

What they are showing as tare is just me and 1/2 tank of diesel....is the truck in my signature truck really that heavy?

Seems right - went to the dump this weekend, me, wife, and young son, weight was at 8360 - Silverado 2500 CC short bed, full tank of gas.

2010 F350 King Ranch 6.4 diesel 4x4 shortbox was 8400. That got lemon lawed. The replacement F250 Lariat 6.7 4x4 shortbox came in at 400 lbs lighter, "only" 8000 lbs.

Yours is a long bed, and if you were in it, yup, that tare weight is probably in the neighborhood.

My truck full of fuel, fifth wheel hitch, my wife, 5 year old son at the time and myself scaled at 9,600 lbs. So yes, they are very heavy! [emoticon]
