OK, so here I am trying to be lighthearted and leave myself open for ribbing and teasing, but some have to turn this into a "I hate Christmas" thread or criticize my shopping habits. What is wrong with everyone? Too much COVID stuff ruin everyone's sense of humor??? Lighten up gang!
Alas I do gift card type shopping as that's the only thing I can afford to ship.
Shipping costs are outrageous right now, worse than I've seen them. I don't know if the "big 3" (FedEx, UPS, USPS) have raised their rates to take advantage of the current situation but I don't remember charges being so high last year. I'm thinking maybe companies are padding some to themselves financially.
Oh, just to set you guys off a little more-we'll be putting our Christmas lights out BEFORE Thanksgiving LOL! Probably won't turn them on until after the holiday but we want to take advantage of what should be warmer weather.
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be Douglas Adams
RV-less for now but our spirits are still on the open road.

LOL! You remind me of my sister. She's had some issues that she's worked really hard to overcome. A few years ago she sent Christmas cards out in JULY, per the suggestion of her therapist. I did help her, though.

A friend gave me a mask with the Grinch on it, very fitting for this year, Covid, ruining everything, and son in the hospital with multiple myeloma, cancer, now with his 4th spinal operation.
I am so sorry to hear about your son. Wishing you all the best. We have a 3 year old grandniece who is battling Leukemia but is doing well. It stinks no matter what time of year. We are approaching the holidays with the attitude we won't let COVID ruin them but have accepted we need to take a different approach. We plan on setting up a Zoom call, Facetiming or something of that nature so we can all be "together" as best we can.
I recently read an article that says putting Christmas lights up early is not a bad thing because it makes people smile. I went out last night to get some take-out barbecue and many people have put their lights up already. And guess what? It made me smile. When people smile the world becomes a better place. My heart goes out to everyone who is having a hard time right now-there are many. People choose how they react to stimuli. I'm choosing to make people smile if at all possible.

I tried hanging globes on a Cardón Cactus and it doesn't work so hot. Icicle tinsel makes it look like a movie prop starring a player named "Ridley" imitation means "Missile toe" complete with flames. Can't seem to get into the spirit. Perhaps if I hang a pine tree from the rear view mirror.

I keep them flying most of the time.
We usually decorate a living doug fir, still in the ground, for the holidays.
I see many turkey here on the mountain.
