Ok people. His LP alarm is not bad. He is saying his smoke detector never had a battery in it. He thought the beep was from the the smoke detector, but without a battery it couldn't beep.

Good find, glad you found it before it's too late!

He said the LP/propane detector located NEAR THE FLOOR and it was beeping. And it also does not have a battery because it is hard wired. And it beeps when is no longer working or past the end of life date printed on the detector. So it was in fact, bad.

I check both alarms before using the TT every time. Why, because according to
the Wisconsin DNR, an average of 5 people per year die from CO poisoning in hunting shacks, ice shacks, and campers. I know that it is not many, but I will not be one of them.
I am a DNR Hunter Education instructor and make sure that everyone hears this information while in our classes. It may save a life.

Here is another angle on the CO detector. Shortly after purchasing my trailer, when it was just about 4 years old I heard the beep during the day. I have all the documentation so I read about this thing. They suggest that you test it every spring and at least once during each season. I also read that under certain conditions, like dusty roads, the sensor becomes affected by a covering of dust. The test actually shakes this dust off. I have been doing this for about 10 years now and it still is working. I certainly will replace it when it stops.

The DW tests the smoke detector daily while camping.

As a bonus, it usually means dinner is ready.
