For the first time in almost 400 years.
During the "Great Conjunction" on Dec. 21, 2020 Jupiter and Saturn will be about one-tenth of a degree apart. It's their closest approach since 1623. Jupiter and Saturn appears as a single bright star.

We're taking the scope to a mountain top star party to have good view. Hoping there's no cloud cover.

Wonderful viewing tonight!

Did anyone see it?
Stopped by the neighbor next property over, he has a sizable telescope and we were able to see the rings of Saturn and the moons of Jupiter.
...they were moving fast as the pair descended over the mountain range.
Perfectly clear night for viewing, but very cold.

We had a clear night and a clear view. The star party finished at 8 because of the cold. Still had a great time.

We picked our daughter and family up at the airport; and as we arrived back home after sunset (Space Coast, FL) we drove to our dock in the Intracoastal and had an awesome view of the conjunction!
