Absotively Posilutely! I can, but do not like to, refill the regular green disposable 1 pounders. I feel much safer with a purpose designed, engineered and built unit.
You can get one on Amazon for a bit less money, even when paying for shipping.

I was going to mention this also. I buy them locally from Runnings or Amazon. No need to put a propane bottle in your freezer. They are so much easier to fill that it was worth the $20 each.
They also make a refill kit, but I just use the same hose I made when I used to refill the dark green bottles. Do NOT walk away while filling them though. They don't take nearly as long to fill. Definitely tip the 20 pounder upside down, you want to transfer liquid.

$19.99 for 1# on Amazon; and if you have a Kamps Propane location near you they are already full & inexpensive!,!

I have tried all suggestions and can only get the one pounder about half full. Even after bleeding off non liquid.
