It really is that simple..........

Cloth masks do not work, period. They may stop some of the very largest particles when someone sneezes or coughs but does not stop the small particles. And when you cough you don't just produce extra large droplets, but rather the whole spectrum from extra tiny up. And for the vast majority of people with no symptoms all they do is restrict their breathing making respiratory problems worse.

Mayo Clinic did a study to show how effective masks are, they got some of those foam heads women use for wigs, stuck a tube out where the mouth would be, hooked the hose up to a BLOWER and pointed it at a mask wearing foam head six feet away. When the blowerized dummy was fitted with a mask and they blasted a continuous stream of plastic bead loaded air directly at the other dummy. That dummy's masks stopped one half of one percent of the beads. Over 90 percent remained floating around the blower head.

N95 masks issued to medics work somewhat if carefully worn and with the correct fitting, discarded frequently, and with no facial hair. HEPA mask do work when fitted correctly and without facial fair. Over the head forced air masks work very well but at the cost of several hundred bucks each and with changes of the expensive filters and batteries. I know since I was in charge of buying this stuff for an environmental lab.
Cloth masks are just tools to make the privileged class feel that they are forcing the proletariat, that's you, obey them.

Coming up on the year anniversary, losing a 9/11 of people every day, and still arguing about it while doctors are nurses and begging us to wear masks.

I guess some people think those doctors and nurses are the stupid ones.

OK so in order to prevent another 9/11 every day I resolve to hit myself in the head with a hammer 25 times a day. Actions that are worthless are actively harmful in this case. How may have lost their jobs, gone homelss, become drug addicts, alcoholics, or committed suicide. Because of your policy.
Let me clue you in doctors and nurses know their fields, but this sort of action is completely beyond anything they have ever studied and thus their opinion is worthless. Very few doctors study epidemiology in medical school. The CDC has to send the doctors they hire to school to learn about it. And most public health measures are taken by engineers not medical personnel.

Do provide us with a link to this "study". Otherwise, only anti maskers are going to believe you.

Actually here is what the Mayo Clinic says about cloth masks:

"Cloth masks

A cloth mask is intended to trap droplets that are released when the wearer talks, coughs or sneezes. Asking everyone to wear cloth masks can help reduce the spread of the virus by people who have COVID-19 but don't realize it.

Cloth face coverings are most likely to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus when they are widely used by people in public settings. And countries that required face masks, testing, isolation and social distancing early in the pandemic have successfully slowed the spread of the virus.

While surgical and N95 masks may be in short supply and should be reserved for health care providers, cloth face coverings and masks are easy to find or make, and can be washed and reused.

Masks can be made from common materials, such as sheets made of tightly woven cotton. Instructions are easy to find online. Cloth masks should include multiple layers of fabric. The CDC website even includes directions for no-sew masks made from bandannas and T-shirts."

Actually all one has to do is google "Mayo Clinic mask study" Interestingly the study shows pretty much the exact opposite of what Agesilaus states.

Maska are apparently quite effective as is the 6 foot distance rule.

Or perhaps my reading comprehension is very poor, but that is what I get out of reading the results and watching the clinics video's on this research

That's pretty much how these arguments end up. After a year of this no one's changing anybody's mind.

Many people who failed to follow some simple common sense practices are dead. Some are dead because those near them failed to follow some simple common sense practices. Death lasts a long long time. If you are wrong in your stance on this issue what are the consequences? Some will live or die because of your actions.

Like kindergartners arguing on the playground at recess. Nobody’s mind is going to be changed and the Mods will get tired of deleting posts and finally close another thread.

I figure it this way. It's like a fart. If I'm standing down wind I'm ok. If I'm in a place where i could get a wiff than I'm standing in the wrong place. Now that's some southern New England hillbilly logic right there!!!!!!
