I'm considering the purchase of a new Jayco Eagle HT fifth wheel that has the MORryde orbital pin box. I would appreciate any feedback from anyone who has one. I've done some research and understand how they work. I'll be towing with short bed truck, so I'll have to either use the pivoting function of the pin box, or buy a sliding hitch.

You don't say what truck. Some allow better axle to cab distance than others. Since you are getting a turret type pin box, I'd just get a standard hitch. You may or may not need the rotating pin box, that I think can be locked stationary, if that works better for you.

If you go with a factory orbital, the mounting wings are specific to that type of box and the only other box that I know of that would bolt up would be the Reese Revolution. I have the Orbital and it’s much more comfortable than the Revolution it replaced. I use the AUH so it’s locked out. With the AUH, I have plenty of cab and tailgate clearance.
I will never buy another trailer with OEM Orbital or Revolution hitch as it severely limits hitch options.
