I wouldn't consider a 4.3L and a 9000 pound trailer.
Winnebago 2101DS TT & 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71, 300 watt solar-parallel & MPPT, Trojan T-125s. TALL flag pole. Prefer USFS, COE, BLM, NPS, TVA, state & county camps. Bicyclist! 14 year Army vet-11B40 then 11A - (MOS 1542 & 1560) IOBC & IOAC grad

I would tow a 9,000 lb travel trailer about 3-5 miles to my house, unhook and take the Silverado down to the nearest Chevy dealer and trade it in on a 2500 or 1 ton Silverado.

Towing Capacity is a fictional number since it will almost always run out of payload capacity WAY before getting close to that 9000lbs number. If that is an actual correct number.

Will it tow it?
Yes
Just like this Tundra pulls space shuttle
All you need is cleared streets and a police escort at 4 mph. Easy Peasy.

I'm not sure where that number comes from, because with that engine the max towing is 7800 lbs. GCWR is 12,800, which sounds reasonable for the hp/torque of that motor. With a truck GVWR of 7000ish, a GCWR of 12,800 gives a realistic towing capacity of 6000 lbs or so. Interestingly, the 2.7 turbo 4 has a significantly higher towing capacity, and with its far superior low end torque would make a much better towing motor. If I were in the market for a GM 1500 series truck I would consider that motor even over the 5.3 V8.
