Sorry but the us border is closed to Canadians at both the southern and northern ends. The US has published this info. There may have been one or 2 incidents of someone being allowed. The US statement could be clearer. Canada is very clear. At land borders US tourists are not allowed with one exception for those going to Alaska. One couple stayed in Canada and went to Banff. They paid a fine of around $5000.

I phoned 3 border crossings this morning at approx. 10:00 and here is what they told me.

Concerning Canadians crossing into the USA from Mexico to get home.

Lukeville- No

Nogales, Mariposa- Yes. I phoned a few times and the answer was always -- "Yes"

Eagle Pass- No

So there you go.....If I were down there, I would phone Nogales and try them.

Good luck to you all.

Thanks Joe. Sure makes it confusing. I would fax or email for something in writing but doubt I would get an answer.

Not targeting any particular post, posts here should be taken as “for information only” and each individual should do their own investigation before making any final decision/action.

As I stated on my earlier post. Do your own due diligence . The responses that I got from the agents mean nothing if they don't like your face. Border open or not , it's the agent you are dealing with at the time of crossing who determines if you get through or not.

This is where you can ask questions about border crossings. I posted a question but probably the reply will be to contact the actual crossing office. I thought it might be worth a try.

I received my reply from CBP:"The CBP officers at the border will decide if you can enter the US by land to transit to Canada." They included the list of what is essential. I will call the Mariposa crossing when I will be in Mexico.
