What's your take on a RV park that charges over $100/night, has only a pool for an amenity (nothing else other than an empty clubhouse and
a couple corn hole games) , has no activities or entertainment and now wants to add a resort fee on top of the rate ?

Don't stay there and support their pricing. I figure they are charging those rates because they can. They will lower them if people don't show.

Why are you even considering it?

Unless there was something special pushing to that park, go somewhere else?

In most places $40-50/n gets you a really nice RV park with a pool.

Now if there is something special, the only issue I'd have with a resort fee is did they make it clear up front so I could price it in to the choice up front (as opposed to springing it on me at check in).

My guideline is if I'm questioning it, I avoid it.

Yup, it all depends. Some places i went had lots of stuff for the kidos to do. Other places nothing. If i dont use those things or get nothing in return for my money i dont go there again. We recently stayed in a place outside of lake george, it didnt have a ton of stuff but the pool. It was pricey. But the pool had waterslides, and movie nights, and my daughter loved it. So , we will go back again. If you dont use the pool the rv park price wouldn't be worth it . So , it all depends on what you get out of it.

Exactly right, and if you talk to them on the phone make sure they know that you are taking your business elsewhere.

My opinion on resort fees would get me banned.

If a park feels they need more income, have the .... to raise the rate. I'm not their accountant and don't know what their expenses are. Certainly a lot more than many folks would guess.

But quoting one rate, even just on a web site price list, and adding a resort fee on top of that - not being honest business folk in my opinion.

It’s your choice to make. I don’t care what the fees are called, only the total due.
