I am still getting notices from Capitol one that two companies are charging my old card... Well today I did a bit of research... I'm not going to give the scammers my new card number.
Home is where I park it.
2005 Damon Intruder 377 Alas declared a total loss
after a semi "nicked" it. Still have the radios

I love that quarterly deposit into my savings account
CC for ALL purchases....hers is set for 3% back on groceries and mine is set for 3% back on-line purchases.
Plus no fees nor to we pay any interest !!!

The Costco card has some good rates: 4% for gas at Costco, which is already about 15 cents/gallon cheaper, 3% for restaurants, 2% for Costco general purchases, and 1% for all other purchases. Plus our Capitol One card is 1.5% on groceries.
No fees, and no interest.
On Edit: Changed name of CC to Capitol One. Oops.

I, too, have set my preferences at my card issuer’s web site to text me every time any charge is made to any of my cards. I do not find the ding of a text coming in as I walk away from the register to be anything but soothing.
I have had credit cards compromised in the past. And I’ve had to go through the hassle of disputing fraudulent charges. Then, I found out there was a problem when looking over the monthly statement, after a number of bogus charges were made. Now I will know immediately. And if you get on it within minutes, you not only have less to dispute, it is also very much easier to get fraud removed from your account.

IME, admittedly not that many, but I've never had any issues with disputing charges that weren't mine. Only one time did I even have to fill out any "paperwork", and it was an online form. Card balances get checked fairly frequently, so I don't mess with the phone notifications.

While I was out (Forgot my phone) I got a call.
..... we have detected a sususcious 1499.00 charge on your card linked to your amazon card and have put a tempory hold on it.. Press 1 or 2. Thank you
Well Clearly i did not press 1 or 2 as I was not home it went to voice mail.
No such transaction. On hold or other wise, appears on either the Amazon account page or the bank's account page..> Clearly a Phish attempt.

yup. i had a voice mail from the social security police the other day threatening me with arrest and jail if i did not "press 1 to speak to an officer about fraudulent activity". lolololol.
