I'm scouring the googlesphere and Amazon looking for a new set of dishes to keep in the RV. I don't want melamine since they don't microwave well, but want something big enough for a decent steak and potato and will handle cutting meat on.
I'd like to get a set that at least includes bowls and maybe cups.
Anybody find some they like?
Thanks muches!

We use Corelle and have had no issues with them. As I recall our set came with dinner plates, coffe cups, soup bowls, small plates.

I second Corelle. Never had any issues in or out of the RV using them for pretty much everything you listed. The only negative is finding the initial set you like and any additional pieces afterwards. It's not uncommon for a style to go dormant for a while before magically reappearing and widely available. So, when you find a design you like, grab it and grab extras just in case they go "out of stock" for awhile.

A third for Corelle. We've been using the same set since 2005 and haven't broken anything so far.

Corelle. White. They're light weight and hard to break. Very durable.
Buy a basic set and look at the a la carte singles to round it out.
White always looks good.
If you need to add to your set at a later date this is so easy, in Corelle white is white. Eazy Peazy.

We are really cheap, we found our Corelle at thrift stores. With a bit of hunting a full set can be pieced together. And most look brand new-never used.

5th 6th whatever the count is
Corelle
Use them in microwave all the time
Broke ONE plate since 2006
While drying I dropped it...it hit the kitchen floor bounced...popped open the RV screen door and bounced out hitting a bolder next to camp site
It was like a rubber ball until the impact with bolder
Think we purchased a full set for 4 at Walmart --- plates (dinner and smaller), bowls (cereal and cup size)
Still have the original set...minus one plate
Have expanded on the set since back in S&B via Thrift Stores
We also carried a FULL Noritake China Set...the Whole set up for 8 (was my Mom-s China) Used it for ALL the special dinners and still do
Never broke any of it...but I am not allowed to dry them LOL

Corelle. You can get sets or open-stock individual pieces. Walmart.com or Amazon.com.
