Interesting read. Washington state, Any new vehicles under 10000 pound scale weight can not have a tail pipe. Proposed bill.

Sounds about right for Washifornia...
Funniest part of that article is how, while promoting this bill, touting WA's cheap and clean electricity, due primarily to large hydro electric output, there are court battles and injunctions about fish passage and many of the large dams are under scrutiny for affecting spawning.
Cheap fast or good, pick 2, still applies.

So low to middle income families will no longer be able to buy a new car.
Chevy Bolts will be the prime choice unless you want to go All in on China with the little Kandi K27 for $20 grand. but with only a claimed range of 100 miles.

Another example of putting the cart before the horse. Are there plans underway to charge all the new EV's?
Last week in Texas proved how vulnarable the power grid is.

Yah I suppose. But that is still 9 years away and a few companies already have 25000 dollar cars with good range on the drawing board. I’m sure the technology will change a lot by then. The most common EV’s sold are already between 31000 and 37000 bucks. Plus electric vehicles are a fraction of the cost to operate.
Time will tell.

No common sense please. This is a hopes and dreams thread....lol
I sat through most of Texas’s problem last week. Had to get outta dodge to get a hot meal and a plane flight home.
Fwiw gas stations were mostly closed too.
This is not an if, but when, scenario. And it’s all fine. As long as it takes the natural progression and isn’t forced into action by liberal politics.

A fraction like 9 over 10! My registration is more, my insurance is more, fuel cost slightly cheaper, and no oil change at 7500 miles. That is not including the cost to upgrade electrical to have a charger in the garage.
