To be honest it might have been someone with that name. But I don't think so.
Fact. My First contact as an amateur Radio Operator was John Quincy Adams SR.
No, not the former president (I'm not that old) but someone with the same name.

Home was where I park it. but alas the.

First, Thomas Jefferson, we all know was the President and passed away in the 1820s, So about 200-years ago. The next part of the internet came along during the Clinton years as President, and VP AL Gore taking credit for inventing the internet somewhere in the 1990s. Now to address the quote:

It has been stated otherways as "Do not believe everything you HEAR" In the Holy Bible "DO NOT BELIEVE" is stated 45-times and the closes framer is found in "1 John 4:1-6" Also is the Believers Freedom, in "1 Corinthians 10:23" As the founding Fathers of the USA Constitution, are the FRAMERS. They were very much into the word of God, and followers of Christ. As for THE "Former President Thomas Jefferson" who is noted for over 1811-quotes during his time it is more likely that he said "Do NOT Believe Everything you Hear""Do NOT Believe Everything you Hear" than for him to have said as you stated above, the ANSWER to your question NO, taking that we know of no other commonly known Thomas Jefferson than the one we read about in American History.

This may be more helpful, in thinking about the phraseology of words and what we refer to as errors or hiccups in thinking. Enjoy this video. Don't Believe Everything your Brain is telling you.

Well, after reading the replies above, one thing I can believe is that a sense of humor seems to be lacking here... [emoticon]

The quote likely originated after an unsuspecting person asking for advice over the internet was given bad advice and applied this advice to what it pertained to.......AND from that day forward they were perceived by friends and family as a MISERABLE FAILURE.

Yep, that's it.

I should tell you do not believe everything on TV either.. I have a few stories about folks who were so clearly lying it's amazing their trousers did not burst into flame...

A cooking show the woman says with voice so sweet I needed to check by blood glucose "And Remember it's all natural it can't hurt you"

Bees are natural and one sting can kill my sister
Peanuts are natural and some folks.. Same way as my sister but peanuts.
Nettles. Poison Ivy, Oak, Et-al
Sharks
Death Cap Mushrooms
Foxglove
Belladonna
Just to name some of nature's Bounty.

All natural. DO NOT CONSUME.
