Some of you may have read the news story about sending a CAR into space. Now if space is as it is with one exception, you can breathe fresh cleaner air, than on Earth.

What, of all Recreational Vehicles (RV) of your dream, which would you select to drive to MARS and stay awhile and then drive back to Earth. Now the important part of this question. Why that RV, you selected, for the trip to MARS and BACK?

WOW, well okay then, I did not see any RV, just a tractor, was that what you had in mind? My point was trying to find out what would make you happy, for say a month or longer.

So Dutch 12078,

"Airstream Astro". would be your Recreational Vehicle of choice! Funny and I do so understand your selection. Cool picture, by the way, is that a USA-made rocket?

I'd rather drive to the sun....BUT would surely do so at night due to the extreme heat.

No RV currently available would be suitable for such a journey. A new design would be necessary. A different type of engine would also be needed, independent of fossil fuels. Any Rver planning to drive their RV on Mars better have 4 wheel drive, a very strong heater, super large propane tank, and propane powered generator. Don't think sun would be strong enough to use solar panels. You'd also need a way to keep water and waste tanks from freezing (potable antifreeze?). I don't know how you'd dump the waste tanks. It would be a shame to mess up the pristine conditions on Mars. Might even provoke the local Martians to ban RV's from Earth forever![emoticon]

In addition, I doubt Good Sam ERS would travel that far if you get stuck in that sand. [emoticon]

It would have to be a Toy Hauler so I could pick up all them Mars rovers we have sent to Mars over the years. I would use the rovers as my 4x4 side by side to go off road. The TH would have to be a 4 season TH due to the cold winters I hear they have on Mars.
