Just curious how the system works with moderators.

How do you determine when a thread should be "deleted" or "closed"?

I think the one marijuana and CBD oils should be closed but hey, I'm not a moderator.

Good thing is, you can still copy-paste threads and I save them all in Word files for future reference.

Why?

If you disapprove ...don't click on it or any other thread

Some threads do have information that can be helpful

Reading and agreeing with all threads is not mandatory. Read what you want and ignore the rest. There is enough cancelling going on in the world and it does not need to spread to the forums.

The deleted posts from vaccers and anti-vaccers were good point/counterpoint comments (like a high school debate). But it was not until the very last commenter who started calling posters inappropriate names that took the this subject off the rails and hence was deleted.

P.S. It was as if he said those words to intentionally have the discussed subject matter deleted.

I was too busy having fun on my latest road trip in Mexico yesterday. I would have liked to have seen the responses to my post before they deleted.

. . .

They all have to have a minimum of a BA in Journalism plus a three week intensive training class in forum editorializing.
Not.

You may have missed my point. The question is, what is the determining factor in deletion or closure of a thread?

Closing a thread allows readers to continue to view the thread but make no additional posts.

Deleting, the thread disappears without any explanation.

What are the criteria for choosing one over the other?

If a member posted using foul language, that particular post could be deleted and the discussion could have continued.

“I think the one marijuana and CBD oils should be closed but hey...”

Because YOU disagree with the subject and/or posts, the thread should be closed?
I’m not interested in those threads but others are...let others discuss what they want!

I replied "excellent post" to your post and we were off to the races. Folks started hating on me.
