Anyone priced insurance rates for 1 ton vs 3/4 ton trucks?

Not in my experience, it has more to do with the cost of the truck.

Well best results ask your insurance agent. The rates vary state, and sometimes by insurance company.

Insurance industry has its own statistics to affect the premiums, so you never know .
I had AAA policy living in San Francisco suburban's and when moved to Las Vegas suburban's the premium quadrupled. [emoticon]

Not sure about the insurance, but I can tell you that the REGISTRATION fee, at least in the state of Texas, is 4 times the cost.

One ton dually in a bedroom city of Houston, registration for 14,000# is $140. Or, you could register it for 10,000# for $70, as my selling dealer originally did.

I went from a 3/4t F250 to a 5500 and paid about 25% more for a truck that was 10 years newer and twice the cost of my previous. I don't think you will see much of difference due to weight but more in truck value.
