When a word like "admits" is used you have already tainted the information. If a word such as "stated" is used the reader senses you are neutral.

If coal can be made cleaner why shouldn't it be used.

Sorry. I don't get it. According to your apparently all encompassing title, we in the northwest will never own electric cars because we don't have coal power.

Electric IS the future. Quit trying to poopoo it.

Well electricity isn’t provided by ferry dust!

And in North America not much is produced by coal...and less every year.

Meanwhile China is building a coal plant every week. As if that pollution doesn't count.
And we are pledging to cut ours in half.... Which we really do not pollute that much any more. In any endevour the first 90% is pretty easy and afordable... Getting that last 10% is extemely hard and costly. It would be much more effective to get China to match what we have already done. But that is not the way it is gonna go.

They were both answering a question they had no clue about. Coal generates less than 20% of US electric power. Natural gas 50%. Renewables just under 20%.

Like so many other people, they need to do their research before opening their mouth. Or start typing. [emoticon]

Clean EV’s my AZZ.

Hydro is evil as it kills Salmon. Coal and Natural Gas is horrible even tho it’s burned efficiently. OH, God forbid Nuclear.

Anyone saying their EV is clean and green is full of Barbra Streisand.

Uh no. Per capita Canada and the US are still some of the worst pigs on the planet. The Chinese would have to get a lot worse before “catching up” to us. They pollute more because the have almost 4 times the population. Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan and Australia are still the top of the heap followed by the US and Canada. China is pretty far down the list.

I just drove over 900 miles pulling my toy hauler and didn't have to stop for fuel (extra tank in bed). Will an EV truck ever do that? In my lifetime?

And don't forget all the energy and materials needed to make the batteries.

If a highway has coils installed there would be no reason to stop to refuel an electric vehicle at all.

Currently at the 5 year mark, a Bev uses less energy from the cradle to the grave than an Ice.

Unfortunately this is how most people view owning an electric car.
