To use Facebook you have to have friends and I have no friends so I do not use Facebook.

All those facial recognition cameras starting in the large cities and working down, need a data base... They put them in here when we had the Republican National Convention. Yes, they are permanent in the cities that they are installed. (Makes me wonder if they are trying to 1 up London)
Selfies, where you hang out, your friends, etc...
How much have you paid to use Facebook? Do you really believe that anything is free?
I give it less than 10 years before mainstream figures it out... For the truth, always follow the $$$...

Facebook is seeing a significant reduction in traffic.
WRT camping/camper sites, I'm a moderator on one page, and we in general don't tolerate snarky or abusive comments. Page is growing by the day. Interesting side note, we occasionally get requests from Taiwan to join the page. HAven't figured out what their real intention is, but any new (5 years or less) member of FB, gets additional scrutiny.
firearm and/or patriot pages are literally dying from FB moderation. Most are moving to mewe.

Facebook is filled with a lot of useless info, not well-moderated; and if you read something, go to verify if it's remotely accurate - and you can never find it again. It does, however have pictures of my grandkids :-)
I appreciate this forum for the moderation; and gobs of useful information. I probably don't come here quite as often because I'm not a newbie (until I buy a different RV....LOL!)

There's a lot more than just social media killing our society, but that's a whole 'nuther discussion.
I overlook a lot of Facebook's faults. Without it I wouldn't be getting the updates I do on our three-year-old grandniece who's fighting leukemia (all is going well). I would not have gotten a lead on a Gordon setter puppy we are expecting in July, connected with old high school friends or kept in touch with some family members. It definitely has its issues most, of which we can fix ourselves such as the "civility" mentioned above. RVnet is also a social media platform and sometimes we see the lack of civility here-it's no different than any other.
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be Douglas Adams
RV-less for now but our spirits are still on the open road.

Too many problems and too much nonsense according to what I read. I won't visit those companies that require me to go to FB page to see their listings. They miss out on my business.
