I love this site. It has a totally different feel from Facebook. Y'all are very helpful and kind so far.

For the most part I use FB to post an occasional Pic or to communicate a Happy Birthday etc

Nothing at all wrong with Facebook. Facebook is wide open and there is no secret that it is a data mining site. Every thing in our modern tech driven society is using and abusing your information.
If you are naïve enough to think that it is all innocent fun, well then I am sorry.
Most of us that use Facebook and the myriad of other social media platforms know exactly what we are getting into.

I stopped using Facebook for various reasons. As far as this forum is concerned I also quit using it because I was unable to change my password myself! Naturally all my history has vanished which doesn’t really bother me as anything posted here is really only useful if it’s recent!. I learn much more from you folks than I teach !

Everyone today is safe from SM technology, as long as you understand the world can read anything and everything you write. If you expect privacy, just don't post it, anywhere, ever. [emoticon]

FB is not the first place I'd go to for RV support.
But then these forums are not either.
Though I was on the radio yesterday with someone who remembers Compuserve.

There are a couple groups specific to Bigfoot campers and there is a RV Electricity group that is good.
Otherwise I use it to keep up with fellow retirees from work, and who of that group just died.

I gave up FakeBook about a year ago. I could feel my blood pressure rise every time I logged in. All it seemed to do was give "friends" I've known most of my life the opportunity to show me that they're MORONS! Although, I was pleasantly surprised with others. We now communicate via other ways. Glad to hear FB traffic is down! [emoticon]

I just gave FB up. Don't miss it at all. I pretty much cut my Amazon usage way down too! I've directed the funds to supporting our local, small businesses who were struggling through the COVID plandemic. Have actually found that many of the local businesses price items the same as Amazon, and sometimes cheaper. But I digress...

I've noticed traffic here has dropped off over the years. I still think it's one of the best RV Forums on the planet and regularly recommend it to folks I find who are interested in the RV lifestyle, along with my username.

I don’t use Facebook and I don’t like it at all. The Washington Post journalists note that, in addition to normal information, Facebook also stores information about visits to sites that are related to a person's personal life, for example, sites of insurance agencies and fertility clinics.

Every body, I mean everybody sells your information. In New York and I imagine many others state, motor vehicles sells you information.
I had a serious motorcycle crash in '81. I lost every shred of interest in the things. I keep the endorsement on my license just because?,and my feed is inundated with cycle content.
Wegmans knew though my courtesy card that I had bought a can of recalled Manwich.(months after the fact)
It is really disheartening to me when folks express surprise or dismay
at the level of information that is gathered. Please educate yourself.
