Click the pic, it is a link. I didn't realize he died of a self inflicted gun shot due to severe pain.
A non romantic lady friend of mine between 2 of her many marriages hooked up with him for a while because they both loved to jitterbug. She was probably the oldest NASCAR groupie out there at a fine looking 45 or so. Small world.

Mel, thanks for posting this. I had the good fortune of working with Dick while he was at Cale Yarborough Motorsports in the #66 Trop Artic car. Great guy to work with and KNEW race cars. I always thought if he had left the ASA circuit early on, he could have been one heck of a NASCAR driver. One of those years at Christmas time, a package arrived at our house in Penna. It was a Christmas present from Darlene and Dick. Thanks for doing all that you guys do!
