Maybe so but IMHO it's a wast of money to do a half AZZ job. Until you have towed a RV with disk brakes, well ya just don't know. Anyone changing to disks will tell you "I wish I would have done it sooner".

Drums are not only obsolete, they’re worthless when it really matters.
Be sure to add Anti-lock (Tuson).

I've done the upgrade and to reach some of the grease zerts I use these two items...the first one works great and also locks on to the second angled piece for the hard to reach zerts:

Obsolete are they? How come trailers still come with drum brakes then?

I do believe disc brakes are a very worthwhile investment. I also believe drum brakes for large trailers should be obsolete. However the reality is drum brakes are not obsolete even though they are inferior vs. disc brakes.
I do not believe you need to upgrade to disc brakes just because you are upgrading your suspension.
Sure it would be nice to upgrade to disc, but the reality is they are 2 different systems.
It is still worthwhile to upgrade brakes or suspension without upgrading both.

If there was a choice to be made , it would be disc brakes long before the upgraded suspension .,
