It’s not snobbery. Campgrounds with full hookups aren’t always where I want to go.

As far as showers go, I’ve yet to stay at a campground with full hookups that doesn’t have showers.

"I only use campgrounds with full hookups" sounds more like snobbery to me. LOL

For me that equals to "I don't shower"

I boondock 90+% of the time and I've never gone a day without taking a shower.

Yeah, RIGHT !
you have you bellowed TC with your own bathroom and having full hookups you go to public showers seeking diseases ?

Where do you come up with this stuff??

I've seen people in Class A diesel pushers use public showers instead of their own right along with TC and TT owners.

What are the chances of catching an infectious disease using a public shower in a campground?

While most of my trips are only 2 nighters what I hook up depends on where I am and the time of the year.

During the summer months I usually camp in places without any hookups. There are no shower facilities and usually no in campground water. Usually only a decrept pit/vault toilet available. (NO there is no showering going on ether inside or outside the camper)

In the winter months all the campgrounds mentioned above are usually closed 'for the season' leaving only ones that have full hookups, shower and flush toilet facilities. While I'll 'plug in' so I can heat the camper with their power, since I'm used to carrying my own water I've actually never used the 'city water connection' on my camper and will wait until shortly before leaving to hook up the sewer to dump the black and then the grey tanks. (to help clean the hose)

Over the years there have been a few times where the campground water stopped working and lots of RV's picked up and left because of it.

You know, if this is going to be so difficult, maybe you just skip the campground and find some place to boondock.

OK now that sounds more like snobbery than "I don't use hookups".

Yes I use the campground facilities. I have no problem with them. I prefer the larger stall size of the campground facilities over the cramped space in my camper. A pair of flip flops prevent the common issues with public showers.

Like I said, I'd rather use my own water from the fresh tank for drinking and cooking than use it up on a shower and have to drink some lousy tasting water or carry a case or two of water bottles with me.

I'm still wondering what your "bellowed TC" is. [emoticon]

When not boondocking in our truck camper, we usually plug-in and then connect to fresh/black/gray/CableTV as needed or if we're not going to be using the camper for short drives nearby for awhile. When black/gray are connected, I keep the valves CLOSED most of the time. When I dump, I want a rush of water, and in some RV Parks it seems like there is positive air flow out of the sewer system which just fans up the black/gray smells if the valves are left OPEN.

We often use the RV Park's shower since our TC's shower is cramped and I like to keep it dry as much as possible.

Sounds like finding camper with comfortable shower is main issue here.
I did own 2 TC who had the same bathrooms lay out.
But for long time I could not figure out why I am very comfortable taking showers in Fleetwood, but not in Lance.
Finally I took tape measure and check, that not detectable by human eye, the Fleetwood shower pan was 1.5" wider, when in Lance I had the curtain on my back most of the time.
