With conventional vehicles experiencing major production delays due to chip problems, the fly by wire systems in the EV's have to be even more problematic.

Sorry, there wasn't a "paywall" when I first looked at the article and provided the link. I don't pay for articles either.

THIS ARTICLE explains the sad details. Apparently Lordstown Motors had an agreement to build an all-electric RV, and plans are obviously in great peril.

How come there are so many crooks in the electric vehicle sector?

Not to say all are honest, but I'm sure many people lost money in the early days of IC car manufacturing.
And the idea of capitalism is based on screwing others.

For those of you who DO NOT live in the Youngstown Ohio area (i.e. Lordstown Ohio), virtually every project that comes into this area promising great things including lots of jobs, and lots of money turns out to be a scam. The "Promiser" ends of rich and invisible! Ask anyone in this area. The list of "snake oil" salesmen is long in Youngstown Ohio. Lordstown Motors is just another example. Wealthy CEO and Finance VP have both resigned and are now invisible. Panic has taken over. Don't hold your breath.

THIS should be a better link for a more informative article.

"How come there are so many crooks in the electric vehicle sector?"

How come ants show up at Picnics?

The Electric vehicle sector is a brand new party for the Crooks. lots of opportunity to carry off some of the wealth. So naturally

Also the linked article is behind a pay wall so I have no clue as to what it said.

Tesla and the ones chasing them all have some version of their Autopilot, and the control systems for everything is electronic, there are basically no manual/physical controls, even the braking systems require electronics and chips due to the "regenerative braking".

Am I the only one that feels the American public is just not ready for an influx of totally-electric vehicles? Maybe I'm old school, and prefer things to run at a bit slower and more methodical pace, but what would be wrong with embracing the hybrid technology that already (quite successfully) have in place? That way I don't have to worry about planning any long trip based on the fact that I've got to find a charging station in XX miles, and I've got to spend a good amount of time at that charging station waiting for my vehicle to charge. I'd like to see hybrids as the next step, then eventually totally electric. And, I'm referring to hybrids like the Prius and Camry hybrid -- not the joke of all joke hybrids like the Cadillac Escalade hybrid a few years ago.
