I'm 2215 miles from home (Massachusetts), between Sioux Fall and Mitchel South Dakota and my trailer broke a leaf spring. It broke right at the shackle so I'm able to jury rig it to get me to a repair facility or a parts supplier.

Can anyone recommend a trailer supply near Sioux Falls or Mitchel SD that would be open on Saturday?

Thanks!

Open Saturday in Mitchell:

https://www.jackscampers.com/

I don’t have any personal experience with them. I just found them by searching.

Lots of truck/trailer shops, and suspension/spring shops in SFs area. Being Sat may make contacting a bit harder??

Jack's Campers is a good sized RV dealer, and has been in business many years. They are open Sat, maybe not parts/service. I would stop there, or at least call to inquire about spring availability. If they don't have what you need, they should know who does in that area. Many RV shops don't work on suspension, but they have someone close by that does their work.

Some farm equipment uses the same springs, so a farm supply may be another source.

Or check auto shops.

They usually are pretty standard. Assuming it's just replacing the spring and you don't have some unusual size, it shouldn't be hard to find.

Biggest issue would be if you are really tight on time. I'm sure you could get it overnighted and arrive on monday.

I broke a spring on our last fifth wheel, and limped it in to an rv repair shop by ratchet strapping the axle in place so it couldn't move.

When I got to the shop, they said I should have also put a piece of board between the axle and the frame for a little cushion.

Then we went to the local farm store so I could buy a leaf spring, they are pretty universal. There is a Fleet Farm and a Runnings in Sioux Falls that should have what you need. Just need to take a few measurements, length, width and number of springs in the pack.

Had a fellow camper with that problem once in Indiana
We were able to remove the spring package
Take it to a nearby spring shop
Return and install it
But then I have some SERIOUS tools in my box

Well, five stops in Sioux Falls SD and no parts available at any RV place. There was a facility most RV shops use, but closed until Monday....A few miles out of town I remember passing a farm place with lots of utility trailers out front. We drove over and BINGO! They had a spring....and they let me use any tools I needed to install it!  A fantastic ex-marine helped after his shift was up at noon. We had to force money on him as a tip. He wouldn't take it. I told him to donate it or take his wife out to dinner and my grandson forced it into his hand. Wonderful people out here in the west! On to My Rushmore!
