How is hwy 14 from Sheridan to lovell wy pulling a 5th wheel. Looks really tricky but road atlas shows rv friendly. Thoughts please. Thanks

14 is doable - just has a lot of switchbacks mainly on the east side of the Bighorns. I have not tried 14A but there are warning signs about steep and narrow road ahead at the 14/14A junction.

16 is not that much further south and is a better road for towing over the Bighorns if you have doubts about 14.

14A is definitely steep and winding on the Lovell side. We took 14 years back towing a 27' TT with our F250 from Greybull to Sheridan over the summit and had no problems. I wouldn't hesitate taking the same route with our current F350 and 35' FW. It's definitely better than 14A.

14A is not called the "Oh My God!" route for nothing. Believe me, the climb or descent on the west side is truly scary.
14 is the better option, but I can tell you that on your way down, when you pull off to rest at Shell Canyon rest stop, you can smell the acrid odor of hot brakes coming from every vehicle parked there.
As stated above, 16 is much better and just as beautiful.
