Currently have XPS Ribs on my 5th wheel. Great tire but they are now 7 years old. Tons of tread left but feel 7 years is pushing my luck.
Looking to replace but XPS Ribs are costly. Are there cheaper alternatives that are just as reliable? Have had blow outs with factory china bombs. They don't last long here in the hot desert southwest.
What about Bridgestone Duravis (not sure which model), or possibly Maxxis? What else?

I'm using Goodrich Commercials LT tires. Work great, have great reviews and are a lot cheaper.

For that light weight FW, you should look at GY Endurance. Sailun or another G-rated tire would be overkill, IMHO. I've seen lots of reports of Maxxis failures.

The XPS Ribs are a 16" LT E commercial grade all steel ply carcass and tread and come in a 3042 lbs and a 2680 lb load capacities.
The Bridgestone R-238 are same sizes same commercial grade all steel ply carcass 16" LT E tires. Both are tops for trailer use with 6k and 5k axles.
Maxxis and Endurance are just another poly carcass ST class tire.
My '97 11200 lb 5th wheel trailer is old and lots of miles. I've used two sets of BFG Commercial T/A 2 16" LT215/85-16 E @ 2680 lbs. First set ran to the wear bars at 55k miles/7 years and second set around 53k miles with no issues.
The OPs 26' fwrks 5th wheel on the net has a 10500 lb gvwr. The 16" LT E at 3042 lbs capacity or 2680 lbs capacity has plenty of capacity and reserve for that size trailer.

Why even look at cheap alternatives? Tires on my truck or RV are not anything I would skimp on, too much at risk.

Michelin says inspect its tires yearly beginning at 5 yrs and replace at 10. I don’t know any others that give that long of a life span. I ran my last set of Ribs to 9 yrs still looking practically new and replaced with another set.

I got 9 years out of my RIBS before one blew just sitting in my driveway.....luckily no damage....it was just as I had already made a deal on my current 5ver...so they got a brand new set of tires. I could not risk an interstate blowout on the way to Couch's....otherwise my trade-in might not have been.
My current 5ver has "G" rated tires and unfortunately, Michelin does make a XPS RIB in that size....I wonder why?
