I haven't been truck shopping in a while, 2006 to be exact. My truck, I've always called it my retirement truck. It has 50487 miles on the odometer. It's an older truck now but still young at heart. I'm sure I would be sticker shocked if I were to visit a dealer. Hoping I want need to for a while. New trucks are always fun and challengeing. Lots of work to change out the supports for my cooler rack, change the tie downs, change umbilical cord. That's not all but I think you get my point. Good luck 3 tons on your new trade. Barry

Sounds like a great excuse for a trip when it comes in. You will love it. What are you cooking in the giant smoker? I'm hungry already.

I'd like to thank all that have responded and viewed my post. Believe it or not RV.Net is pretty good medicine for delayed camper syndrome. I like pictures so I'll share a couple

This was the back road travelling from the ferry dock to the cape lookout light house.

Ferry that is used to float us over to the island.

Beautiful sunset on the island

Hurricane Mathew caused a whole lot of extra water to deal with. Beach was pretty much under water so travel was done on the back road. Park service evacuated the island pre hurricane. Barry

I shopped for a truck for six months. My 2016 XLT Powerstroke with 53K miles on it sold for $49,000 to a dealer (!) who turned around and asked $53,000 for it (I think they got less) - I paid $55K for it brand new in 2016! I started looking for my new truck in January and finally took possession in July - for the most part I would find one and it would be gone before hitting the lot. I eventually bought a cab and chassis truck from a fleet arm of the dealer, who were much more honest - I even got money off MSRP and they did not try to tack on a "market adjustment fee" (many dealers tried to add $3-5,000 to price because trucks were nowhere to be found).

My Palomino HS-2902 Max was supposed to be done first week of September - I am going to Indiana from Virginia to pick it up. Then I got a call that it is now last week of September "if they don't run into any part shortages". This makes me wonder what the quality of the camper build will be... Oh well, we should not complain, these are all "disposable income" luxury purchases, not life and death kind of deals...

Ognend, I've been wondering the same thing with my cascade build. Hope they do not cut too many corners to get them out the door. Good luck with your new camper and safe travels to pick up your new camper.

Well we are still waiting for our Host Cascade. Who would have ever thought it would be this long. Hopefully we will get a call before Christmas. Barry

Wondering if there are any other rv.net members that are on a waiting list for a Host camper or any other manufacture. Is it an industry wide issue? Just trying to pass some time away not that it isn't already passing quickly. Barry
