Our whole family had Omicron few weeks ago. All fully vaccinated so no complications at all. We had some meds at home, i checked all the descriptions and dosages on Canada Drugs and we took some to get rid of the fever and headaches.

I consider myself recovered. If I had to guesstimate I would shelve my case of Ómicron far down the shelf from recent influenza episodes as far as intensity and discomfort are concerned.

Ed and I aren't taking chances - we got booster #2 (Moderna) today - zero side effects. Arm doesn't even have a sore spot from the injection. I'm seeing the number of cases slowly creep upwards in FL, and it's been 5-1/2 months since our last booster

We were vaccinated Late November and then 2nd in December of 2021. Got COVID in February. Just like the flu, feverish and aches and chills for a few days then like a cold that settled in my chest. Wife was not quite as bad. Then got the booster in March. We've been careful wearing masks and sanitizing all along. Not sure yet if I will take the next booster. Have diabetes, high blood pressure, a-fib, gerd all managed by meds.

The link to a factual overview of the ending of the 1918 Pandemic. It seems like opinions have not changed much since my college days 55 years ago

One of the hypotheses of why Omicron is so different from the previous variants is an early variant infected mice, adapted in mice to be more infectious in mice (earlier variants didn’t bind well to mouse ace2), and then infected humans.

The End Of Covid Regulations In Mexico

Masks, Temperature Taking, Distancing, Public Charts, Graphs, have ceased...
Children have returned to school and public health officials say "It's Time To Move On"

Inoculations were always performed on a voluntary basis and the government will continue to offer them in specific fashion to the aged and immune compromised.

Vaccines have been available in date and location specific fashion unlike in the United States. There has been no information released about future Ómicron specific vaccines.

I am SOOOO glad we got that second booster! Ed had spent the day a week ago with his youngest son - running errands, going to lunch, riding in the same car. No masks - no social distancing. Son called later that night to say he had tested positive :-(

Long story short: Ed has tested negative twice; I tested negative also.

The vaccine does not inhibit you from contracting and testing positive, it's supposed to minimize symptoms and hospitalizations if you do. The fact that you tested negative just means you didn't contract it.

Vaccine effectiveness against infection is >0%
Vaccine effectiveness against hospitalization and death is much higher than against infection.
